River Love: Two AO guides Promise to Share Sunscreen and PFDs for Life
August 30th, 2008 by MalinaThis summer some unsuspecting guests on a Middle Fork of the American river trip were witness to a most unusual event. We like to think our rafting trips are always unique and special, but this one has to take the cake; we can’t promise to deliver something like this again for awhile!
AO rafting guides Matt and Beth have been sweethearts for as long as we’ve known them. Little did Beth know, but this river trip was going to be one she’d always remember. Halfway through the day the boats eddied out as usual above Chunder rapid for a little scouting and preparation. Much to her surprise, Matt started talking about her–not the rapid–and before she knew it, she was being asked one of the biggest questions of her life! We’ve had quite a large number of AO romances that have turned into marriages over the past 45 years, but this is the first ever engagement on one of our trips.
