Sammy came to us by a unique path. After starting off in culinary school and finally getting his B.S in Recreation in 1999 he gave us a call from his homestate of Illinois and moved out to California to be an intern in our office in Walnut Creek and guide a little. From there he naturally migrated to a nearly fully time position a year later. He met his wife on the river (she also guided for AO) and have two lovely children Jaden and Nathanael, with their third due in Oct 2008. You can still find Sammy out on the river from time to time, but he seems to have found his calling and started his business Search Friendly Web Design. You can also keep up with Sammy on his blog..
