Go Rafting This Summer: Great Whitewater Flows in California Until October! [MAP]
Posted June 17th, 2016 by Jamie LowThe Summer Whitewater Rafting Season has arrived here in California, and now is the best possible time to book your trip. Here’s why:
Go Rafting This Summer (July, August & early September):
Between now and early September we will offer daily departures (7 Days a Week!) on both the South Fork of the American & Middle Fork of the American River, as well as most days on the Tuolumne River and the Class V+ Cherry Creek (Upper Tuolumne). Please contact us for details about trip availability on specific dates.
The Fall Rafting Season (September & October):
Rafting trips will continue to be available with surprisingly great flows. Upstream reservoirs provide a few select rivers with reliable flows for boating during California’s “extended summer” months with the following schedule:
- South Fork of the American River
Until September 5th: 7 Days a Week
September 6th – 30th: Thursday – Sunday
October: Friday – Monday - Middle Fork of the American River
Until September 25th: 7 Days a Week - Goodwin Canyon (Lower Stanislaus River)
September or October: Dates TBA
Note: The following rivers are no longer running during the 2016 season:
The above map shows our current forecast for the coming rafting season; we will post updates both here and on the All-Outdoors Facebook page as new information is released. For a more detailed description of the season forecast for each river, be sure to read our updated flow predictions for 2016:
