Wine Trip was delicious!
Posted July 10, 2007 by MalinaA few weekends ago we hosted our first whitewater and wine tasting trip on the South Fork of the American River and I’m happy to report it was fabulous!. We were joined by some of the lovely ladies of Boeger Winery’s tasting room staff as well as members of the Armstrong family.
The day started with a rafting trip on the Upper section of the South Fork. After negotiotiating the rapids of the Upper, guests hopped out of their
boats at Mother Lode River Center where a bucket of chilled wines and a delicious (if I do say so myself) lunch was waiting for them. The Boeger Girls poured six different wines, including a dry Rose made from the spicy Spanish Tempranillo grape, and a brand-new release called Migliore, a Reserve wine made from Italian grapes. We feasted on Crostini with Cyress Grove goat cheese and roasted tomatoes, beet and fennel salad, minty tabouli, spicy salami, herbed olive oil . . . sounds good to me right now–what am I doing at this desk!? We finished off the day with stone fruits and fresh berries soaked in Boeger’s Muscat Canelli dessert wine served over vanilla ice cream.
The day was a lot of fun and we already have another trip in the works for later this season. If you’re interested in joining us call our office and we’ll keep you posted on dates and availability.
