Wine Trip was delicious!

imgp0082.JPGA few weekends ago we hosted our first whitewater and wine tasting trip on the South Fork of the American River and I’m happy to report it was fabulous!. We were joined by some of the lovely ladies of Boeger Winery’s tasting room staff as well as members of the Armstrong family.

imgp0071.JPG The day started with a rafting trip on the Upper section of the South Fork. After negotiotiating the rapids of the Upper, guests hopped out of their
boats at Mother Lode River Center where a bucket of chilled wines and a delicious (if I do say so myself) lunch was waiting for them. The Boeger Girls poured imgp0078.JPGsix different wines, including a dry Rose made from the spicy Spanish Tempranillo grape, and a brand-new release called Migliore, a Reserve wine made from Italian grapes. We feasted on Crostini with Cyress Grove goat cheese and roasted tomatoes, beet and fennel salad, minty tabouli, spicy salami, herbed olive oil . . . sounds good to me right now–what am I doing at this desk!? We finished off the day with stone fruits and fresh berries soaked in Boeger’s Muscat Canelli dessert wine served over vanilla ice cream.
