The AO Blog Still Lives!!Posted October 24, 2006 by Robyn Suddeth
Twas the end of a season, and all through the town
Not a paddle was being used, not even brought down.
All the boats had been stacked in the warehouse with care,
with hopes that come next year, they’d all still be there…
OK, so maybe I wasn’t meant for poetry.
But, the end of the season has definitely arrived. We did our last trip a few weekends ago, and since then have been immersed the post-season mayhem of clean-up, boat-patching, maintenance and inventory. Well, not me personally, but a lot of fine, hardworking people have been anyway. I, have been immersed in office work post-season mayhem, which is much less exciting to describe.
So for those of you who do read this blog on a more consistent basis, I apologize for the long absence. Don’t worry though…a lot of fun boating-related things still go on over the winter, and we’ll be writing about all of it here. I’ll also have some time again to keep updated on conservation and other general river news, and come March I’ll be posting all those snowpack reports and flow predictions for next spring.
Thank you to everyone who made 2006 such a fun season! If anyone has some good stories from a trip they took this year, please feel free to send it in! (It can either be a comment to this post, or you can email it to me.) We’ld love to see people sharing some river tales of their own.
Until then, keep checking in for the next brilliant stanza of my poetic masterpiece.
