Trailfest 2012 this Wednesday June 13th!Posted June 11, 2012 by Malina
It’s time for TRAILFEST 2012, that annual celebration of all things South Fork, American River Canyon, and Coloma-Lotus Valley. June 13th–that’s this Wednesday, babies! In addition to raising the always-needed funds for the American River Convervancy, Trailfest brings together friends from near and far, guides from the the American River outfitters, local business owners, and people who just plain live here and call this lovely valley home. And YOU if too see the allure of live music, tasty food, local beer and wine, dancing, and supporting an excellent cause. What cause you ask? The American River Conservancy has preserved–and continues to preserve–hundreds and hundreds of acres of land along the American River corridor. It has preserved historic ranches and grazing lands, riverfront acreage, and open hills. The goal of all of it is not just to preserve beauty and nature for its own sake, but for all of ours as well. Miles and miles of hiking trails lure cyclists, horse riders, runners and bird watchers every year. Trailfest is one of the important fundraisers that makes all this happen. So if you’re headed up for an American River rafting trip anyway, think about coming a little early or staying a little late and joining all of us–yes, AO will be out in force!–at the 2012 Trailfest!
