On Monday, June 8, the Headwaters Institute is hosting the American River Seminar, a day of watershed education and networking for river guides and the local community. Speakers and presentations include Sue Britting on Wild Plants, Hunter Merritt on Interpretation, a presenter from SMUD about the current water situation, and a showing The Last Descent, a film made by local kayakers about international rivers that are being destroyed by dams. The seminar is free with a ticket to the ARC Trailfest that evening ($30), otherwise it’s $15 at the door. Lunch and prize giveaways are included in the cost! The event is from 9:30-4pm and will be held at the Earth Trek camp 2 behind the Post Office in Lotus.
