Help a fellow River Lover!

I want to let all y’all know about a fund-raising event coming up in April.  The event is to benefit Kelley Kalafatich, a river guide who is about as famous as they come.  Movies, stunts, first descents, mentoring young river guides, international expeditions, and beloved friend to many.  A couple years ago, Kelly was diagnosed with a very rare condition that has left her in a wheelchair.  Her aggressive and relentless physical therapy has helped her regain some mobility and freedom, but she still has a long road.

You can help Kelley’s efforts by going to a showing of her incredible and award-winning documentary, Three Women, Three Hundred Miles.  I’ve seen the film and can highly recommend it–it’s the chronicle of a truly unusual descent down the Colorado River.

Where: Georgetown IOOF Hall (at the corner of Hwy 193 and Main Street)

When: Friday April 16th at 7 pm.

Suggested donation to raise money for KK is $25, sliding scale if need be.  You can get more info at 530 823-1128 (Geri Teixeira) or tex50@comcast.net
