Key land added to American River Trail

arc-logoThis January, local conservation group the American River Conservancy, aquired a key new swath of land for its American River Trail project–a series of public use trails that follow the South Fork of the American River from Coloma down to the Salmon Falls bridge.  The new 45 acre parcel allows the trail to go all the way to the top of Folsom Lake–the property owners decided it was more important to ensure lasting public access to the land than to keep it for their homesite.  A big round of applause to them for their genuine community spirit!  To read more about this aquisition and the Conservancy’s plan for trail construction (beginning this April!), visit the Conservancy’s website.
